Today is National Waffle Day. I am sure you have all made waffles, but have you ever made cake waffles? Mix up a cake mix as directed and put a 1/4 cup mixture in your waffle maker.
Cook them just like you would "normal" waffles.
Top them with whipped topping...
or make a waffle ice cream sandwich...
you could even top them with frosting if you have some on hand. (I cannot find which blog I saw this idea. If you know, please leave a comment.)
