At Halloween we "Boo" them.
At Easter we "Egg" them.
This year we decided to come up with something for the 4th of July. We "Boomed" our neighbors.
First we took empty toilet paper rolls and patriotic scrapbook paper. We cut the scrapbook paper to fit around the tubes.
Second, we filled cupcake wrappers with poppers and tucked them into the tubes.
Third, we folded red tissue paper in half and snipped into the sides to create a ruffle and we glued it around the bottom of the tube.
Next, take a small strip of cardstock, and glue it into the bottom of the tube for extra support to hold the poppers in the tube.
Lastly, we cut circles out of red cardstock. We snipped into the center of the circle and folded it around to make a cone-shaped top for the rocket and glued it onto the top.
After it was complete, we attached this sign.
The kids placed them on our neighbor's door steps, rang the doorbell and ran.
The whole project took about 15 minutes. Have a safe and happy 4th of July, and if you see a military service man or woman today, be sure to thank them for all that they do for our country.
